Puffy
From Comfort Promised to Comfort Felt

Working with AI (Miro AI + Chat GPT) Rapid concept exploration developed as part of an interview challenge, demonstrating AI-first product design workflows.

Puffy is known for its award-winning luxury mattresses, promising cloud-like comfort and premium sleep.

Yet buying a mattress online remains a difficult decision. Customers must commit to a high-value product they cannot physically experience beforehand.

The Challenge
Puffy challenged candidates to propose a strategic initiative that would increase e-commerce conversion while demonstrating an AI-first design workflow.

The goal was twofold:
  1. Customer Impact:
Identify a high-impact UX opportunity on Puffy’s website that could improve conversion and customer confidence.
  2. Operational Impact:
Design a 10× AI-powered design workflow that would transform how the design team researches, ideates, and prototypes solutions.

The case study required demonstrating strategic thinking, design leadership, and practical use of AI tools to accelerate product development.

The Approach
Through analysis of user reviews and purchasing behaviour, a key insight emerged:
the problem isn’t comfort — it’s the confidence to buy it.

My solution addressed both customer experience and internal design efficiency simultaneously.

The proposal demonstrates how Puffy could:
  • increase conversion by reducing decision anxiety
  • build emotional trust in a high-consideration purchase
  • accelerate internal design output through AI-powered workflows

AI-First 10× Workflow Blueprint
Created a dual-loop AI design workflow:

Insight → Idea
AI synthesizes research, reviews, and behavioral data to spark opportunities.

Idea → Insight
Human intuition generates concepts which AI validates with data and trends.

This system transforms design into an adaptive creative engine that blends human creativity with AI acceleration.

The Reflection (My View on New AI Workflow)

Design is created for humans, and humans donʼt function like machines.
It isnʼt always about precision or efficiency; it lives in imagination, emotion, and connection.

That belief shapes my AI-first workflow for Puffy - blending intelligence with intuition, structure with serendipity.
It operates in two directions:
- Data to Idea, where AI interprets user behaviour and insights to spark opportunity; and
- Idea to Data, where human intuition leads and AI validates or challenges the vision.

Both loops feed one another continuously, creating a cycle of learning and imagination.
This dual-loop workflow turns AI into a genuine creative partner, a research co-pilot and concept generator, but never the designer.
It transforms design from a slow, sequential effort into an adaptive creative engine, freeing humans to do what machines canʼt, to feel, to judge, to tell stories.

The best design happens between order and chaos. Thatʼs why I keep diverse AI perspectives - multiple tools, not one engine to invite contrast and unpredictability. Thereʼs beauty in accidental design, those imperfect moments that give work soul. While AI brings precision, humans bring imagination that defies logic and sparks emotional surprise.

Design must draw from multiple sources of truth, not one dataset or persona. It should evolve with humans, environments, and culture, not just technology.

Above all, design must stay authentic, alive, and thoughtful, crafting stories that spark joy and imagination. Because while AI accelerates and data informs, itʼs our capacity to think, not just analyse - that gives design meaning.
